Kate is a super editor and writer, and an absolute pleasure to work with.
She is also someone driven by the issues. When she joined the WaterAid global brand/editorial team, she came from a press liaison role where she had travelled extensively, meeting communities in Africa and Asia, and supporters across the UK. This meant Kate could create content from a place of authenticity and authority. She was also great fun and very funny - able to manage client team expectations and translate technical information into engaging comms every time. Highly recommend!

Kate is an excellent writer and all-round comms pro.
She's naturally a people-person, which makes her perfectly suited to figuring out how audiences think and feel, and how to engage them. She's worked on some tough subjects and always delivered top quality work. I'd happily recommend her for any charity comms project, especially where a degree of sensitivity and care is needed. She's super reliable and an absolute joy to work with.

Little did I know, when Kate began mentoring me in May 2024, the impact that connecting with her would have on my career. Kate’s support managed to exceed every single one of my expectations.
Her advice was always thoughtful and honest, grounded in her years of comms experience. Her practical feedback contained actionable targets that motivated you for the next call. She has given me tools that I know I’ll use in my daily comms routine for years to come.
In addition to this specialist advice, Kate was also a source of moral support during a hectic time for me professionally. I ended every mentoring session feeling understood, appreciated and valued. If you are looking for a comms expert who can combine strategic thinking with emotional intelligence, you’ve found them in Kate Whittaker!
